So today, my husband and I are leaving for a trip to Wichita…my home town. Wichita is also a place associated very heavily with my circumstances and “active waiting” this year…
My husband has a possible job opportunity that would take him to Wichita, but nothing has been offered or is official as of yet. (Hence the slightly veiled secrecy here…) If we were to travel to Wichita, I would be closer to my sweet grandmother, and I would also be able to return to school and finish a degree I should have finished (and attempted to finish more than once, I’m afraid) long, long ago… Actually, as I type this, I realize “finished” is perhaps the wrong word…because I was trying to obtain a degree my college didn’t have at the time, and now they actually do have that degree in place. Yes, I would be going back to school to “finish”, but I would also be getting the degree I dreamed of getting in the first place…
Of course though, lest we forget, that will not be happening unless we find ourselves relocated for a temporary stay for my husband’s employment….
Sooooo, as of now, we
w – a – i – t . . . . .
This whole predicament is truly why I even comtemplated this 31 Days series of blog posts…I knew my situation would be difficult to sit through, and I also knew the challenge of writing on a subject that’s quite frankly a little bit uncomfortable – instead of warm and fuzzy and easy – would be good for my soul…as a writer, and especially as an artist…
So, once again, off we go – my dear husband and I – to the city that serendipitously connects us (more on that in another post) and holds a lifetime of my young memories in each street we drive through…
I will be posting more on our trip, and on the active waiting journey
God is putting me through gifting me with. 🙂

I wait for the Lord,
I wait for the Lord,
my whole being waits,
and in His word I put my hope.
