A Few Of My Favorite Things {A Link Up}

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…two things I adore in the blog world are linkups and list posts.  Today I’m linking with the Nester to share some of my favorite things, just in time for Christmas.  (Nester instructed us to keep the items at around 15 bucks or less, and I have to confess, my first item goes over that number slightly, but only by a couple of bucks.  It’s worth it, I tell ya!)

~She Reads Truth journals~

Being a part of the She Reads Truth community this year has been a sweet and tender blog blessing.  The gracious ladies at the helm dreamt up such a loving and embracing online place for women to connect to God’s truth and community.  They designed this delectable journal, and have now made it available for purchase online here.  I engraved mine with my life verse, and am looking forward to using it in the New Year.  (It’s a fine value at $17.00–the quality and craftmanship are lovely.  You can engrave yours for an additional $8.00)

~Write Now Journals~

  I’ve already written about these wondermous journals in a previous post, but I had to feature them in this link-up because I think they are such a fantastic deal!  I first saw my favorite of these journals at The Inspired Room blog, but have delightfully discovered there is a whole line of these beauties, each with their own fantastic theme, featuring beautiful art and quotes from beginning to end of their pages.  I purchased one of mine at a Francesca’s store for $8.00 (they don’t appear to be available at their website, but they are carried in individual stores).   However, at their main distributor’s website, they are $6.95 plus shipping (When you reach $50, shipping is free!) - a great deal and a great gift!

~Love Came Down~ ornament & mug~

 It is no secret how big a fan I am of Dayspring products!  They are made with such loving care and quality (I got to visit their headquarters this past summer, and was so impressed!), and a great value for the price!  Both last year and this year, their Love Came Down line has been one of my favorites, and these two products are my uber-faves for Christmas.  This beautiful ornament  is on sale for only $5.00!  The mug (pictured above) has become my go-to morning cup for java and tea, and I’m sad to say I’ve searched their website, and I think they are out of this size. (I got it on a sweet Black Friday deal for $3.99!)  Happily, the larger version, their latte mug (which I also own, by the by) is still a deal at $9.74, and if you prefer the smaller size, this one is also quite lovely, and reasonably priced at $7.49.

This notebook has been a favorite of mine for most of this past fall season.  I featured a photo of it in a post a few days ago, and today I happily discovered Dayspring has deeply discounted this lovely stationary/school supply line for the holidays!  I thought I got a steal when I first bought this notebook for around 3 bucks–but happily it’s now discounted to $1.50! (There’s also a spiralbound notebook for the same price, as well as a one inch 3 ring binder for $2.00).  I have written every one of my blog playlists in this little book, and I love that the front cover inside flap is filled with inspiring Scripture.

~Watch For The Light: Readings for Advent~

I have been wanting to read this book during Advent season for the past few years, and was finally able to pick up a well-priced copy this season - mine was under 11 bucks! ($10.82 to be exact, methinks).  This book is full of short essays by some of my favorite prolific authors, including Madeleine L’Engle, Philip Yancey, Kathleen Norris, and uber classics writers such as Lewis, Merton & Bonhoeffer.  The entries are by date, which I love, and the writing is quite meaty, as opposed to some other Advent readers I’ve encountered, stuffed with Christmas fluff.  I’m also reading a Nouwen Advent reader (also reasonably priced at around $9.95) and I’m finding the content between the two goes hand in hand.

Lo, in the silent night

A child to God is born

And all is brought again

That ere was lost or lorn.

Could but thy soul, O man,

Become a silent night!

God would be born in thee

And set all things aright.

~15th Century

{full disclosure moment: only a few of the links above are affiliate links, which basically means if you purchase them through this link, I may receive a few pennies…which will just go back into this blog fund!  I’m honestly not even sure if the links work, however, as I am VERY technologically uninclined.  I’m not trying to make a sale, I just want to share my favorite deals with you!  Merry Merry and God Bless Us, Every One!}
