Day 11…Favorite Scripture ~ My Life Verse

I never expected such a well known passage of Scripture to become my life verse.  I honestly can’t even remember exactly when I ‘claimed’ it, if you will.  I think the Lord has shown me over and over how important it is to truly delight in Him.  He has surprised me and gifted me with so many of my heart’s desires – including the most wonderful ones I didn’t even know I had – but without question, they all came into being out of my walk with God.

This verse fills me with hope.  This verse reminds me I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  This verse reminds me I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  This verse assures me I have no need of a spirit of fear.

This verse draws me back to all of the other promises, assurances, commandments and covenants Scripture holds for me.

    1. That is such a wonderful verse Mimi – I’m writing that one down in my journal today – thank you! 🙂 I agree with you – I debated sharing alot of my favorite verses, but in the end, thought my life verse encapsulated it for me. 🙂 Blessings today!

  1. One of the beautiful things about The Lord is that if we delight in Him, the desires of our hearts are refined to be His desires for us. We begin to desire what is best, what is most honoring to God, and then He Himself is delighted to be able to give those desires to us. It’s so beautiful!

I particularly love 1 Corinthians 15, and 15:58 is my life verse.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, know your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

    1. Love your thoughts on my verse – you summed it all up perfectly! 🙂 Your life verse is beautiful. Thanks so much for continuing to read my series this month! 🙂
