Twitterature: My March 2014 Reads

twitteraturemarch2014edited2

It’s been far too long since I have linked up with Modern Mrs. Darcy‘s Anne and her fun monthly reading linkup, Twitterature.  I’ve been reading a fantastic stack of books, as this spring has delivered a literary feast of reads!  Between the veritable treasure trove of new releases, and current bestsellers on my nightstand, I’ve been absorbed in some outstanding books this month!

Show Me The Way: Daily Lenten Reads by Henri Nouwen

I first read through this Lenten reader last year, and enjoyed it so much, I’m coming back to it this season.  With a short devotional for each day beginning on Ash Wednesday and leading up to Easter, this book’s packed with Nouwen’s signature wisdom. #importantlentenreader   #somuchwisdominathinpaperback

Spiritual Misfit: A Memoir of Uneasy Faith by Michelle DeRusha

I have been devouring my sweet friend’s debut memoir, and loving every page of it!  {It hits shelves on April 15th–pre-order your copy.}   Michelle‘s transparency and honesty in sharing her spiritual story has helped restore my faith in being authentic and real amidst a recent trend of many faith-based memoirs being released.  This book is beautiful, relatable and inspiring.  I’ll be featuring an interview with Michelle here on the blog next month celebrating her book’s release.  She has some incredible wisdom on the creative process and writing – don’t miss it.           #readit  #myfavoritekindofwriting

Found: A Story of Questions, Grace & Everyday Prayer by Micha Boyett

I am loving this memoir that chronicles Boyett’s journey of discovery and practice of Benedictine practices in her daily life.  Micha’s writing style feels like a modern-day Kathleen Norris.      #releasesinapril  #abeautifulreadnottobemissed

Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan

I finally found a copy of this book at my local library, after so many bloggers and book-lovers raved about this story.  I love the whimsy and fun of this quirky read that mixes a love of old books with modern technology.  I find I get more into this read the further into the story I delve.  A delightful read for book lovers. {Oh–And one of my favorite quirky things about the book: the hardcover copy I checked out from the library glows in the dark!}      #highly recommended  #funandfrothyfiction

Daring Greatly by Brene Brown

I feel like the last woman on the planet to read Brene’s latest book.  Its as wonderful as you’ve heard, believe the hype.  There’s so much wisdom packed into this hardcover, and Brene writes as well as she speaks.  {In fact, this book was in part born out of her famous Ted talk.}  I’ll be discussing this book at SheLoves Magazine for the online Red Couch Book Club next month – join me there for what’s sure to be a glorious discussion! #brene&opraharebesties   #packedfullofwisdom   #potentiallylifechangingread
